What follows is a review from Hannah, here at ELQD ECIGS, and my thoughts on the XROS 5 since release.

First Look
Excited to see how Vaporesso have upgraded the XROS with the XROS 5, I grabbed myself one in ‘Jade Green’ (of course)!
The aluminium alloy body features a sleek, modern design with a very faint marble effect across the mint green front and back panels, and metallic edging surrounding the device. The device has a smooth glossy texture that not only enhances its visual appeal but also makes it more comfortable to hold.
As always, ‘Vaporesso’ is vertically branded along the front panel, with the Vaporesso emblem stamped on the back to finish off the clean and contemporary look of the XROS 5.
Design & Build Quality
Weighing in at 73.7g, the XROS 5 is noticeably heavier than the previous iteration (51.5g). Despite this, it definitely has a more premium and durable feel to it, without weighing down my pocket.
The magnets and connectors in the pod port of the device securely hug the PCTG plastic XROS pods in place, ensuring they won’t fall out. The XROS 5 is also compatible with the entire range of XROS pods.
Seamlessly integrated on the front of the XROS 5, the new 0.88″ HD screen is a major upgrade over the XROS 4’s basic LED indicators. Where the XROS 4 used simple flame icons to represent present power levels and relied on colour shifts to show battery status, the XROS 5 delivers all of this information – and more – in a clear, easy-to-read digital format. It’s a smarter, more intuitive display that adds both style and functionality to the device. Pressing the fire button a number of times allows you to adjust wattage, and more…I’ll discuss this in more depth further down.
Located on the side of the XROS 5 is the airflow control valve, which remains unchanged from the 4 – this is fine by me, I’ve never experienced any issues with it. This can be adjusted for a tighter or looser hit depending on user preference.
On the opposite side of the device, you’ll find a multi-functional fire button used to power the XROS 5 on and off, lock/unlock the device, and adjust settings. Another notable change from the XROS 4 is the placement of the fire button (previously located on the front panel) – personally, I don’t mind its whereabouts as both versions are comfortable to function during use.
Directly below the fire button, you’ll find the USB-C charging port which, according to Vaporesso’s website, supports 3A fast charging!
How to Use the XROS 5
- Remove the device from the packaging.
- Snap the mouthpiece off the pod and gently squeeze your E-liquid through the filling hole, tilting for a full fill.
- Pop the mouthpiece back on and ensure it’s shut firmly.
- If the pod is new, allow it to sit for at least 15 minutes before using to ensure the coil has primed.
- Remove the protective sticker from the base of the pre-installed pod.
- Press the fire button 5 times quickly to power the device on or off.
- The XROS 5 is both draw-activated and button-activated: to activate auto-draw firing, simply inhale through the mouthpiece. For manual firing, ensure the device is unlocked and hold the fire button down when inhaling.
Additional Settings
To activate the XROS 5, press the fire button once.
To change the theme on the display screen, press the fire button 2 times quickly. Press the button to select the setting and press and hold for 2 secs to confirm. 6 theme options:
To access the settings menu, press the fire button 4 times quickly. Press the fire button to scroll through the menu options:
Screen Lock: Prevents accidental firing and setting changes, but allows for auto-draw firing.
Button on/off: Allows for auto-draw and power changing, whilst preventing accidental firing.
Animations on/off: Turns effects on or off when fired – only with Space, Watch, and Rainbow theme.
Puff Clear: Resets puff counter.
Power Modes
The XROS 5 offers three power modes: Eco, Normal, and Power.
- Eco (ECO): Lower wattage output to preserve battery life.
- Normal (NOR): Standard output ensuring consistent power until the battery dies.
- Power (PWR): Higher wattage output and bigger cloud production.
Press the fire button 3 times quickly to change the power setting. Once you have it on your chosen setting, wait 3 secs to save the current setting and exit.
When using the 0.4Ω pod (not included), you can adjust the wattage output. Press the fire button 3 times quickly to enter the power setting and then press the button to increase the wattage in 0.5W increments.
N.B. this can only be done with the 0.4Ω pod, which is slightly disappointing for vapers who prefer higher resistance pods and enjoy tailoring their vape to suit them just that smidge more.

Vaporesso’s XROS lineup just levelled up – again. With the release of the XROS 5, you might be wondering how it stacks up against the trusted XROS 4. In this quick comparison, we’ll break down the key differences and upgrades to see whether the latest iteration is worth the switch!

Performance
Starting off with the pre-installed 0.6Ω XROS pod, I paired this with Blueberry in 10mg from Elux’s Legend Nic Salt range. From the very first draw, the flavour came through clean and vibrant, delivering that familiar sweet, tart blueberry hit with impressive consistency. It’s gentle enough to enjoy all day without becoming sickly, and works especially well as a palate cleanser between stronger, more complex flavours.
The 0.6Ω pod strikes a nice balance between warmth and vapour output, producing a draw that really complements fruit-based nic salts. Vapour production is smooth without feeling overwhelming, making it ideal for those who enjoy a stronger flavour experience without jumping into full-on RDL territory. I got around 28 hours and 456 puffs out of the device when using the 0.6Ω pod before it let me know that it was time to recharge.
In between testing the pods, I set my XROS 5 on the charger and came back 30 minutes later to a full battery, all thanks to being supported by 3A fast-charging!
Moving onto the 0.8Ω XROS pod, I switched things up with Bar Juice’s new Strawberry Sour Raspberry in 10mg. This combination delivers a satisfying MTL draw with a smooth, consistent hit every time. The pod captures the flavour beautifully – bright, tangy raspberry layered over a sweet strawberry base that pops without feeling too intense. The balance between the tart and sugary notes feels spot-on, making each puff crisp and refreshing without overwhelming the taste buds. With the 0.8Ω pod, I estimated around 31 hours of use and 493 puffs before the battery needed recharging!
